METALLURGY AND ME...

                                         METALLURGY?????

girl...no scope...not growing sector...change to cs in private..do damn anything but not this...workplace sucks not suitable...no future .. are you out of your mind???

These were the reactions coupled with astounded, puzzled and mad faces around me over my decision of choosing metallurgy in NIT  Raipur.

WHY??was their question and here's the answer-

Metallurgy often referred as man's branch; hard and sophisticated  is mistaken with its use only in furnaces but look around pins , tables , trains , planes ,computers etc everything has a metal or at least made by a metal machinery; so the need of improving the quality of metal that is developing its characteristics ,reducing wastage  increases .and the real work of metallurgists in a developing country like India needs metallurgists in R & D  to help in structuring the backbone of country and strengthening defense mechanism.i dont limit branch with scope as if you have capability, jobs will come to you and girls can definitely do wonders and i know many live examples in SAIL satisfied and happy..

so next time anyone asks you "what ' s your branch?" don't think of avoiding or passing the question instead answer with pride "metallurgy - the core of everything".............
